Silica Testing

All sampling will utilise good occupational hygiene practice and will be in agreement with any procedural requirements requested by the client, and will be carried out in accordance with the current UK COSHH Regulations 2002 (as amended) with reference to relevant UK Health and Safety Guidance documents.

Personal exposure monitoring can be undertaken on selected operatives by means of a sampling train. The sampling train will consist of a personal sampling pump worn around the waist, and a sampling head containing appropriate sample media attached as close to the operatives breathing zone as is practicable.

All static / fixed point samples can be collected over a known time period using similar methods to those detailed above, and will be placed in strategic locations within the sample area(s) following consultation with your on-site representative.

At the end of the exposure monitoring works a full interpretive report detailing basic process descriptions, measurement and evaluation criteria, observations, sample analysis results, conclusions and recommendations (where appropriate) will be produced. All results will be related to the current UK exposure levels, as detailed in the recent HSE EH40/2005 Workplace Exposure Limits (2005) where appropriate.
