LEV Testing

How does LEV affect your business?

Every employer who provides any LEV to meet regulation 7 shall ensure that, it is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order, in good repair and in a clean condition” Regulation 9-1 COSHH

Is LEV part of your risk assessment and does it form part of your COSHH assessment? IT SHOULD!

The HSE are enforcing exposure to exhaust fumes and without this as part of your COSHH assessment and within the excepted limits then you could be served with a prohibition notice!

  • The COSHH Regulations 2002 require that Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems are thoroughly examined and tested every 14 months by a competent LEV test engineer. We offer a thorough testing and examination of LEV systems, which includes measurements of static pressure, transport velocity, face velocity and temperature.

  • The test and examination of LEV fulfils the requirements of the COSHH Regulations 2002 and the HSE Guidance Note HSG54 “The maintenance, examination and testing of local exhaust ventilation.”

  • Long term (8 hour) and short term (15 minute) monitoring undertaken depending upon Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) of the hazardous substance.

  • Reports written in accordance with British Institute of Occupational Hygiene methods
